Ah June, the middle of the year, leaving us all wondering where the rest of it has gone… June just so happens to be my favourite month of the year, as it is the month of my birthday, and as it happens, today happens to be the day of my birthday! Happy Birthday to me!
I figured that my birthday would be the best day to do my June favourites for a number of reasons: One, I didn’t do a May favourites, simply because I didn’t have any that were different to previous months; Two, I wanted this to be slightly early due to reason one; Three, I didn’t want my favourites to be influenced by the birthday gifts, as my birthday is the end of the month, so that wouldn’t be fair; Four, you guys seem to really enjoy favourites, so it’s my birthday gift to you. Enjoy!
This month has been very very enjoyable for me, I’ve found myself being exceptionally happy, despite the miserable weather and everything else going on in the world currently. I’ve allowed myself to really get back into reading, which I only really do when I feel calm and relaxed enough to do, and I’ve just had a good time. Anyway, let’s crack on with it, shall we?
A Game of Thrones by George R R Martin
I can’t possibly for the life of me work out why it has taken me this long to discover how amazing Game of Thrones is? I shall clarify at this point that I have not watched the television series, so please do not spoil anything for me or ask me about it, because I haven’t seen it. I am a big believer in books over film adaptions, so I really want to read the books before I watch them. I’m not sure if that will work out entirely as my boyfriend is desperate to watch them all, but I will try my hardest!
I absolutely adore reading, settling down with a good book is one of my favourite things to do, and I am so happy that I managed to get more reading done this month. I still have a long way to go though, I need to dedicate more of my time to books, as nothing really does make me quite so happy.
Tea Tree Toner
I picked this little gem up in a recent little haul, as I have been needing some stuff to tackle my skin, and this has certainly been doing that. I did also pick up the face wash, but for some reason I feel like it is thing that’s giving me the results. It’s something about the way it feels when applying it to my face, it feels like it’s working immediately, tightening my pores, drying my blemishes, yet cooling my face at the same time. I have been really really enjoying this, and my skin has really started clearing up nicely again. I’ve also continued using the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion, and I am still loving that a lot.
Early Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel
Another Body Shop item? Of course another Body Shop item, all of their stuff is amazing. This is my ultimate all time favourite shower gel from The Body shop, and it breaks my heart every time I have to admit it to myself, but it’s not a permanent product, and they only have it during sales. I cry every time. Seriously though, when there is a sale on, I stock up and buy like three of these. I have been reluctant to start this one as it’s my last bottle, but with it being June, the best month of the year, and me feeling summery and fresh, it was definitely time to crack this open. It’s such a fresh and sweet scent, I adore it, it’s got that warmth in the scent, and it’s just everything I love. I only wish it was a permanent item.
Spectrum Brushes
I recently wrote a whole review on the Spectrum Brush Set, and you can check that out by clicking on the link, but I just thought I would reiterate how great these are. It wouldn’t be right to not include them in my favourites, as I have been using these almost every day. They’re so soft, and so lovely to apply product with. And they’re unicorn inspired, so they’re just winners.
Polynesian Island Tiare Perfume
Another Body Shop Item? That’s right, I love The Body Shop. This perfume is becoming the summer scent, I can feel it. This is delightfully floral and fresh, I’m not really too sure how to describe the scent of this, so I’m just going to repeat myself. It’s really summery, and I’ve been wearing it a lot!
Molly Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick
I love love love this liquid lipstick! I’ve spoken about it before here if you want to read a more in depth review of it, but I’ll cover the basics of why it’s a favourite of mine here. This shade is ‘Gaga’, which is absolutely gorgeous, a muted sort of pink, and dries to a really comfortable matte lipstick. I don’t find this drying, it’s super comfortable to wear, it applies so evenly and smoothly, lasts all day and I don’t have to worry about it. I absolutely adore the MC Liquid lipsticks, and my collection of them is steadily growing! If you fancy picking up some of these, use my discount code ‘JADE’ to get yourself 10% off!
NYX Matte Lip Cream
I have spoken many times about how much I love these, and recently I have been absolutely loving the shade ‘Prague’. It’s a gorgeous bright pink with a bit of purple in there. Whatever colour you want to call it, it’s beautiful, and since I dyed my hair blue, it suits me incredibly well… If I do say so myself. These apply beautifully, have a lovely creamy consistency, and last quite well. These do need topping up during the day though. These feel far from dry on the lips, but the clue is in the name, it’s a cream!
Goof Proof Brow Pencil
I got this as a freebie in this months Elle Magazine, what a lovely little gift! Initially I wasn’t impressed with this as the pigment was very poor, and the transfer was shocking, but as I used it more I think the product warmed up? I’m not too sure what happened to it, but it changed, and became a really lovely product to use, with great pigment and staying power. The angle of this pencil makes it super easy to apply and get the angle of your brow perfect, it just makes the whole ‘eyebrow’ thing really simple. It is exactly what it says on the packaging, goof proof. I’m really enjoying this.
So there we go, there are the things I have been enjoying this month is the lead up to my birthday! I can image next month’s favourites will be full of the birthday goodies I have received today, or the things I buy with the pennies ever so lovingly given to me for my birthday. I’m thinking of doing a ‘What I got for my Birthday’ post, what do you think? Would you like to see that? Let me know.
Have you used any of these things I have been loving this month? What are your favourites? Let me know, and as always, chat to me in the comments. Also, if you’re feeling kind, like my Facebook page and follow me on Instagram and Twitter as well as following my blog to keep updated on whatever is coming up next!
Thank you for reading!

I love the colours in the NYX lip creams, I just daren’t try anything too bright. I’d really love to be able to pull off Prague! I got the Goof Proof in Elle this month too, but I ended up with the darkest shade 😦 it was a shame you couldn’t actually see through the magazine packaging to make sure you got the right colour. And happy birthday! x

I was a bit scared of the bright colours at first, but it’s surprisingly easy to wear! Ah, that is a shame! They should have specified or made it clear, otherwise I would assume they would just give out the ‘medium’ shade!
Thank you! xx

Happy birthday! Funnily enough, I just went to The Body Shop yesterday and got lots of goodies! I also like the Soft Matte Lip Creams, and while I have Prague, it clashes with my bright red glasses a bit. And I also read and loved A Game of Thrones this month (it’ll be in my favorites post when that goes up). I’d been slowly watching the TV show earlier this year but am still in season 4, but now I want to catch up on the books before finishing the show.

Thank you! The Body Shop is my go to for most things, and the matte lip creams are so lovely!
I’m trying my best not to watch any of the TV show without having read the books, but that is becoming increasingly difficult! I am really enjoying it all though ☺️ xx

I adore the soft matte lip creams. They are one of my favorote liquid lipsticks as they feel very light on the lips. I haven’t tried the shade ‘Prague’ but I really want. I don’t know if I could pull it off though as I have warm undertones. By the way, I guess I should pick up that tea tree toner the next time I go shopping 😍

They are so light, I do agree! Prague is a lovely colours, and I definitely think it could suit warm undertones!
The toner is brilliant, it’s helped to clear up my skin so much, so if you’ve got a similar skin type to me I undoubtedly would pick it up!xxx

I am also obsessed with The Body Shop!! I’ve been using the tea tree toner for years now and there’s nothing else like it. I didn’t know they had a raspberry scent, so I’ll be sure to look out for it during the sales. Have you tried the honey one? It’s my favourite 🙂 also I’m glad you’re enjoying the Game of Thrones books, I’ve read the first one and will be reading the second one soon once I can summon the energy! Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ❤

Their whole tea tree range is a god send for my problematic skin! You should definitely look out for it, I’m so sad that it isn’t permanent, but it’s so great! I haven’t tried the honey one, but maybe I should under your recommendation ☺️ I am absolutely adoring Game of Thrones, and I got the whole book box set for my birthday, so I’m even more excited to keep reading now!
And THANK YOU!😁💕
