Okay so, I’m the lazy sort of girl who never paints her nails. Aren’t I just the worst? Well, that’s changing. A lovely friend of mine gifted me a couple of these Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail polishes, and oh boy they are a game changer.
As for nail polishes, my favourites always used to be the ridiculously expensive Nails Inc (£15 a bottle, um what?), I loved them because they were smooth, the brush was a decent size, they dried reasonably quickly and gave a fairly opaque colour. I thought this was a winning combination for nail polish, so never strayed very far, firstly because damn they were expensive so I better use them up, secondly, I was too lazy to try anything else because painting nails is tedious.
Fast forward to the present day, and the lovely Abi gives me these two gorgeous coloured Barry M Speedy nail polishes. Firstly, I fall in love with them because look at the colours. Grey, a gorgeous stone grey, my absolute favourite colour of anything, perfect, and a gorgeous pastel purple, perfect for the summer season.
Obviously, being the monochrome lover that I am, I tried out the grey one first. Let’s talk through the process of me falling in love with a nail polish, shall we? So I open it, and I am greeted with the perfect nail sized densely packed nail brush, with a generous coating of smooth looking, highly pigmented nail polish. Sounds great so far hey? I start with my thumb, it’s my longest nail so I always do, and with two strokes the nail is covered. This is just one coat and the coverage is completely opaque, smooth, no brush marks, and within a minute, bone dry. Shocking.
The process was pretty similar for every other nail, the brush is just perfect nail size. This stuff applies like a dream and dries unimaginably quickly. That’s why I’m calling it a game changer. As you see, I really enjoyed this. So it felt only right that I should expand my collection a little bit.
Let’s hop down to Superdrug and take a peek, oh look, they’re only £3.99 and on a 3 for 2 offer? Gimme!
Naturally, I pick up the black in the collection. As I mentioned above, monochrome is kind of my thing. I did also pick up a gorgeous pastel sky blue and coral pink too though, lovely summer colours, that I will try, but almost undoubtedly stick with the black and grey most of the time.
Anyway, needless to say, I tried out the black. Everything was as expected, smooth, perfect brush, but not quite as opaque. As you can expect from any black nail polish, one coat was not enough. But you know what? Two was, which is still shockingly impressive. Even my black nails inc polish takes a few coats. I haven’t tried out the other colours, but I am confident that they will be just as good.
I’ll be leaving it at that today, simply sharing a really good product that I think you should try if you haven’t already. If you’re lazy with your nails, just like me, I encourage you to try these, they’re very impressive.
Have you tried these out before? What did you think of them? or do you have any game-changing nail polishes to recommend? Let me know, and as always, chat to me in the comments!

I love Barry M nail polishes so I need to try this. I don’t paint my nails too often as I hate waiting for them to dry x

Oh yeah these ones! I loved them too, but I only had a matte one from the speedy collection and it just didn’t look cute. But I absolutely love their new summer collection (the coconut one) and was planning on a post (had photos and everything) but just sort of forgot. I agree with you, much better alternative to nails inc. xxx

Look at me sucking at keeping on top of comment -sigh-
I’ve never ever ever tried a matte nail polish, but these are super cool and super quick! I looked at the coconut ones but wasn’t convinced, you should eventually do that post and persuade me haha xxx
