I think everyone has them. Products that look so lovely on the shelf, or you’ve heard such good things about them, or you’re just really impulsive, so you buy them. And they turn out to be crap. Well, I though I would share with you some of the crappy things I regret buying.

Makeup Revolution’s Pro Prime

Essentially this is a water based primer, you just spritz it over your face and that’s it… Supposedly this primes your face? I have not experienced that with this at all. Point number one, it did nothing to hold my makeup any better than my unprimed face would. Point two, really difficult to distribute evenly. Point 3, this gave me crazy break outs. The Pro Fix I actually do like, that does a half decent job as a fixing spray, but this is not good.

The Body Shop’s InstaBlur Eye

Oh look, another primer I don’t like. This is an eye primer, which on the back of my hand looks like it would do a lovely job, fills the pores, gives me nice even skin and looks flawless, the minute this goes near my eyes, some sort of witchcraft happens and it’s horrible. This, again, does nothing? If anything it makes my concealer go all weird. I don’t like this at all.

MUA’s Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve only tried one MUA palette, and I wasn’t expecting much from it at all for the ridiculously low price, but I was expecting it to be actually usable. No, in order to get any pigment out of this, you need to dig it out with a butter knife or something. It’s a shame really, as the colours do look quite pretty in the pans, but you can’t get it out, so there is no point. I have actually given this away, but truthfully I think it deserves a spot in the bin.

Maybelline’s Dream Blender

I has discussed this before here, where I believe I was conflicted about this. Initially I kinda liked this, it was different, and I hadn’t tried sponge applicators before. The more I used it the more I grew to hate it, to the point where I don’t actually know where this is now. It’s just too solid, it doesn’t blend as nicely as a buffer brush does, and buffer brushes is just where my loyalties are in terms of things that blend things onto my face. Also, it’s fricking tiny, useless.

Maybelline’s Baby Lips

I know I’m now attacking something that a lot of people really love. I’m sorry, but I did not get on with this thing at all. It was rough, it pulled at my lips way too much, the packaging is ridiculously flimsy and has now actually cracked in numerous places, and it make my lips worse than they were to start with? Honesty, everything about this made me feel like a small child, the packaging, the scent, the cheap feel…. I didn’t like this. Please don’t take it personally.

Maybelline’s Dream Lumitouch Concealer

More disappointment from Maybelline? I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be bashing the brand at all, Maybelline do some amazing things too… this just isn’t one of them. As far as concealer goes, this does nothing. As far as Illuminator goes, this also does nothing. Again, the packaging feels cheap, and the product did nothing good for my face at all. Pass.

Makeup Revolution’s Rose Gold Shimmer Brick

In the pan, this looks gorgeous, sitting on a vanity, this looks gorgeous, looking at the product in the packaging, this is gorgeous. I just wish it was gorgeous on the face. Shimmer, it declares, when I think of shimmer I think light and glowing, a slight touch of glitter perhaps… this is like a unicorn took a dump in the pan and they called it gold. The glitter in this is beyond chunky, and that’s not a flattering look for me… I like the way this looks in my makeup storage, so it wont be going anywhere because I’m a hoarder, but I don’t like this on my face.

I think we will put an end to this trash talking for now. I have plenty more crappy products that I’ll never use, but I don’t want to fill your day with too much negativity! If you would like me to go through more products I regret handing my hard earned cash over for, let me know, I’ll think about doing this again!

As for now, that’s it! Have you tried out any of the products I have mentioned? What did you think of them? What’s your biggest regret buy? Let me know, and as always, chat to me in the comments!
