I’ve been trying so hard to put myself on a spending ban, and I’ve been failing at it miserably! I just can’t help myself when I see something pretty! On the other hand, a couple of these bit I did actually need…

I had never actually owned or tried anything from Too Faced, and this was a big error which needed fixing. I had been eyeing up the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette for ages, and was admiring it in my local Debenhams… I happened to be in the right place at the right time. As I was stood at the Too Faced stand I witnessed a woman returning a palette that she had just purchased as one of the pans was a bit loose and wobbly, she exchanged this for a new one, leaving the ‘faulty one’ with the sales lady. I enquired about what was wrong with it, and she explained that one of the pans had not been glued properly, other than that it was perfect, but because of the ‘fault’ it would have to be reduced by 20%. Bingo for me. I took it at the discounted price, and put a little superglue under the pan when I got home. Perfect, and a slight bargain!

This palette is absolutely gorgeous, and I am so disappointed in myself that I didn’t purchase it sooner! The colours are so pretty, so pigmented, super blendable, and smell like chocolate, obviously! I have absolutely fallen in love with this palette. The shimmer shades are gorgeous, the matte shades are beautiful. I am in love. When I’ve tried out a few more looks and more of the shades I will likely do a post all about this, so far, I absolutely adore it.

Next up, whilst I was in Debenhams I thought I would pick up a decent concealer. I’ve been out of decent concealer for a while now, I had been trying to use the Maybelline dream illuminating concealer, but was not getting on with that at all, it just wasn’t doing the trick. I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and try out the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. The wonderful sales lady was super helpful in colour matching me, I’m fair neutral if you care to know.

I understand the raving reviews of this, it is insane, the coverage ins absolutely incredible, it blends like a dream, feels wonderful on the skin and I don’t have a bad word to say about it. The packaging is gorgeous, the product is gorgeous, and to be fair, for the quality of this concealer, the £17.50 price tag isn’t that bad!

I also popped into The Body Shop, because I just can’t not, I have an unhealthy addiction to spending all of my money in The Body Shop. I did restrain myself though, and only picked up a couple of bits. Firstly I picked up the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion, I had just finished a sample of this and it was working wonders for me, it made my skin feel clear and refreshed and was doing a great job of tackling blemishes along with the Tea Tree Oil that I use.

This is wonderful stuff, its much calmer than the oil, not to intense or drying on the skin, but still tackles blemishes wonderfully. I have been using this every day and have been really loving it!

I also picked up the All In One InstaBlur Eye, this is a tinted concealer and primer for the eye area. I had been looking at this a lot recently, as I needed a new eye primer, I wasn’t too fussed about the concealing benefits, but it’s a plus! This applies really nicely, and works really well as an under eye primer, not so great as an eyelid primer though, so I guess I’ll still be on the look out for one of those!

Finally, I nipped into Sainsburys and saw that the Maybelline Baby Lips were on offer for £2.50, so picked one of those up. I had seen the great reviews of these everywhere, so thought I would give them a try. I picked up the ‘Cherry Me’ one, as I was expecting a nice cherry scent and cherry colour.

The packaging of these I think is pretty cute, but I will say it does feel cheap, I know it is cheap, but it feels a bit flimsy to me, I don’t think I would trust this in the bottom of my bag… Other than that, the scent is lovely, the hydration is brilliant and the colour is okay. I would have liked a little more colour pay off, but for a tinted lip balm, it’s pretty good. I am glad that I finally have my hands on one of these.

That’s all that I’ve picked up for myself recently. I really need to learn how to stop spending, because my bank account and I are not getting on very much at the moment! My makeup bag and I however are getting along better than ever!
