I saw these on pinterest, and desperately wanted to have a go at making them, and when is a better time to bake than in the run up to christmas? These little bites look so completely adorable, like a bite of magic! Really they’re just shortbread with hundreds and thousands in them, but where’s the fun in that? Let’s make fairy bites!

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 100 grams of softened butter
  • 50 grams of caster sugar
  • splash of vanilla extract
  • 160 grams of plain flour
  • HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS

You will also need a bowl for mixing, a spoon for mixing and a baking tin for baking, obviously. Some scales for weighing the above may also help…

You will want to preheat your oven to about 300 degrees, and prepare a baking tray. Mix your softened butter, sugar and vanilla extract together then add the flour and mix that in. Now you’ll want to add your sprinkles, I might have gone a little over the top with these!

Next you will want to knead the dough and pat down into a square-ish shape. Now cut your dough into desired bite size and place, with space between, onto the baking tray. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until slightly golden.

On second thoughts, might need more hundreds and thousands!
